It was around 70 degrees today, no wind. I broke out my Winchester 1300 NWTF Buck & Beard to run some shells through it. It has an Indian Creek .660 Choke, and a Nikon BDC Red Dot optic. I ran Browning TSS #7, and Long-beard Magnum number 5's. I like both patterns. I always sight in at 35 yards, this is my outer limit, on in from there.  I love to take my shot at 30, 35 yards. I like this gun for running-gunning. Short, light, but does kick like a mule....hold on tight.....be safe....

Best turkey rig in history! I don't shoot the 12 anymore... but last time I did I shot my biggest bird ever in Fla. I have the 20ga as well.. hunted with it this week....really love that one.

I have a pile of 1300 turkey guns have a few of the shorts that have the 18" barrel that was around for a while. But that version has eluded me. But it is high on my list of guns I want. I have wanted it since i am a kid. I remember it standing out on the rack when my dad would take me to one of the local gun shops.

Thanks guys, yea I really want the laminated 20 gauge version but that one is really tough to find. The search continues..nice picture of that Fla bird...

If 35 yds was my limit, I would definitely save some coin and skip the TSS 7s. Any run of the mill $10 a box lead load will get you to 35 yds.

Yea, the Longbeard does just as good. Cheaper too.....

I hate the trigger on my 1300 Turkey gun but man does it pattern. This is a lasered 40 yards....the factory xfull choke tube and 12 ga. 3" Hevi 13s in #7s.....hard to argue with that.  Anyone have any recommendations on someone for trigger work on this thing? It's got to be at least 8 lbs! [IM

Agreed, the trigger is rough. I find I pull the play out then it breaks. Once used to it, it's not bad, but would like a lighter pull...Great pattern on yours there....

Tom007..... mine has a wee bit take up....then the wall....and man....it has to be 8lbs.  I think I'm gonna put my trigger scale on it later today and confirm. Thanks....was totally impressed and I have a stockpile of those shells. I may actually carry a 12 ga this year.  :OGturkeyhead:

If anyone knows of a gunsmith with 1300 trigger experience.....I'm all ears!

I have an 870 20 ga compact that I just put a Timmney trigger kit is.....it was spendy but the pull went from 5.2 lbs down to 1.8 lbs......I added some turns on the spring and got it to about 2.2lbs....perfect for me. I wish they offered a 1300 kit.

Amen my friend. I also put a Timney trigger kit on my 870. It's real smooth, a bit over 2 pounds.....I agree, I hope someone has trigger info for the 1300.........I would entertain changing it out...be safe, thanks for your info.

Thank you, it's all the gun. Kicks like a mule, but when the gobbler is there, we all don't feel it...lol....be safe my friend...
