Is it just me, or does anyone else erase remove turkey sign from public land??? I remove tracks, feathers, scat, etc... Leave no trace. I feel mildly evil every time I do it, yet this has never even once caused me to hesitate in doing so lol.

Get some stealth mode for your truck. Predator mode for you. lol

Tail Feathers

I've brushed away some tracks and wing drag marks before.  No need to advertise your honey hole.
I also pick up feathers and even the wadding when I can find it so no one knows where my kill was.
I think of it as being secretive.   :toothy12:
Love to hunt the King of Spring!

I have walked on tracks but mostly to verify new tracks the next time around not to hide from hunters.

Killed a bird on a sand road two years ago, probably went to the spot 5 times in two days, had an extra scouting day before season opened. each time I went there was a fresh gobbler track, killed him in an hour after striking out on a roost hunt in another spot.

Found about 150 yards worth of turkey scratching along the edge of a gravel road in pine straw; drove my truck over it...twice.

I'd never cut a guy off or slice a hole in a blind but I've kicked a turd or two... I've also been known to park my truck and ride my bike a mile down the road so the road scouters don't get wise to where I'm hunting.

I cover up everything. I've even got my wife doing it at this point when we're hiking. She points it out then mashes it gone

Absolutely!!! I've done it as well. Back in my WMA only days, I was hard core about being secretive. Nowadays, I don't hunt public very often because of the reason for this topic. Disrespectful jerks that ruin your hunt, or as I call it, "the joys of hunting public land".

Sent from deep in the woods where the critters roam.

IF   I could find a track on my local public , I'd cover it for sure !!

Happy hooker

I stretch "Police Line Do Not Cross" tape across the parking area on public land :police:

What turkey sign? I don't know what your talking about

PALongspur

Absolutely! I learned this at a young age! Been doing it religiously ever since I was able to follow my Dad in the spring woods.
