I'm chomping at the bit here in Va for April 10th, the start of our season. Who is up first and when? I remember when we had two Florida guys on the team at one time.

I start on Monday in SC. Don't have a very good spot to hunt, but I'll be in the woods anyway.

No turkeys yet. Today I found out part of the reason why. After the property I hunt was logged 5 years ago, the only places left for the turkeys are the hardwood strands that snake through the property. I walked back in there today for an afternoon hunt. When I got there I found that some beavers had dammed up a drainage and flooded a section of the hardwoods that the turkeys like to roost at and forage in. Just my luck!!

That ain't good Rut but might be good for Wood Ducks in the Fall!

Strangest things happen to turkey hunters for sure. :firefighter:

April 26th I HOPE! I lost one of my spots and had to scout a new area as some may know. It's a new zone for me. Over the counter sales start tomorrow and there are not to many permits. Fingers are crossed! This one zone I've scouted looks pretty good.
