Afternoon fellas.
Finally got around to shooting the 20ga 870 with the .555 Jebs Headhunter and the Primos Tight Wad.570, both at 40yards with Federal HWTSS #7
Didn't clean gun.

JEBs 555- 132pellets in 10"@40 (POI was POA)

Primos 570- 145pellets in 10"@40(POI issue- I pulled left)

I need to see what it'll do at the 20yrd mark, it may be too tight?

First time playing with this 20ga.
I hunt with a SBE2 and once I got it dialed in I needed something else to play with... it's definitely going to need a dot sight if I keep it.

Thoughts?

I think those are some good looking patterns for TSS #7. Id hunt with either one. The tss#7s just dont have the pellet count that the 8s & 9's do. So your not gonna see the crazy 10" #s, as you probably already know. And yea you definately want an optic when running the shurshot stock and its high comb. 870 20 ga's are awesome turkey guns all the way around, mine has seen the demise of many gobblers over the years. Best of luck with it!

I assume you are required by law to shoot nothing smaller than 7s? If that is not the case, 9s are by far the better option.

No, in Florida there isn't that restriction.
I just liked 7s in my 12ga. I originally attempted to buy the 9s and 7s and BPS screwed me out of the order on the 9s and trying to get rain checks failed.

Tightwad shot you pulled left? You shot more than once with that choke to confirm ? Choke can do that sometimes.
Just FYI.
Nice patterns with both. Good luck down there.

I'm getting 175+/- pellets with my #7.5s in my 870 20ga.  I love the performance of the 7.5s over the 9s.

Good luck this season.

It's possible. I'll need to shoot more, but I'll wait for a sight to be affixed, I think lol. Ammo so scarce and expensive!

Thanks, good luck to you as well this season!

7s hit like a freight train.

Only turkey Ive lost in 30+ years was shot with tss #9. Ive shot about 8 with them. Only one was stone dead. Most were still blinking eyes. That hasnt happened with #7s.

That 570 pattern is nice.

That tightwad pattern is nice! very even.

I've never lost one with 9's or 9 1/2's but the 8's and the 7's sure do hammer em.

Nice patterns!

Alot of folks overlook the tightwad simply because its a $20 choke, but man I've seen great pattern out of them!! Some even better than the Jellyhead. Good luck my brother!
