I did the exact same thing!  Over 4 miles on Natl Forest this am, not a gobble, nor even a track.  Fished this afternoon, caught a bunch, but none close to the size of the one you caught....

Oh, and I was listening for birds while I fished, so I guess that counts for something

Nice fish!  How long are his spurs tho?

Took my grandson out at daybreak and heard one wake up. Drove around a bit and saw one two miles away strutting on a hill with two hens.  Sure wish I had taken my good camera, the strutter would have been a great pic with the sunrise behind him.
