You might find it interesting that a #6 Hevi Shot shell dissected by a retired NY science teacher last year (it's in the Hevi Shot forum) found more size 7 shot than 6's and quite a few 7 1/2's as well. He made up an elaborate bar graph showing exactly how many of each shot size was in each shell. 7's are illegal in my state but it appears I'm shooting them incidentally anyways. He also found lower pellet counts that advertised by Hevi Shot. For the record, my 40 yard, 10" counts were down 20-30 with this years loads compared with last years, and this year I polished my barrel for the first time.
