SD Black Hills / NW Nebraska tips

Planning a trip in late April and looking for some general tips on some areas to consider.  My friend up there is not a turkey hunter, but has hunted Black Hills for elk, so he knows some areas there, but nothing across the border in NE.  Not asking for GPS coordinates to steal, just looking for suggestions on some starting points.  Thx!

Best tip I can offer is to be prepared for BAD weather.  It can, and does, snow at that time of year there.  Sometimes a bunch.
