Is anyone shooting a .680 or more open tube in 870?

I have an 870 with a 665 Jelly head that Ive been shooting 3" hevi 13 7's out of.  It works, Ive killed birds with it, but everytime I shoot it at paper at 20 yards I get worried I may miss a bird that close if he moves at all.  It has a red dot now and Im planning to try the 7's with some more open tubes like a .680.  I know the only way to know is to shoot them, but has anyone had good results with more open tubes with the hevi 13 3" 7's.  I guess what Im hoping to find is a 20 yard pattern like a volleyball and 150 or so at 40 yards.  Any suggestions on where to start?  I may be open to the Idea of lead too but like the numbers with the 7's.

I don't know the contriction but I've had good hunting patterns withe the Remington Xtra full tube, if you plan on keeping your shots inside 40 and are using HTL the standard full might be the ticket for you, good luck.

3" 870 Shell Shucker

#2
Using a Non-Ported .675 Indian Creek choke in my 3" 870, with 3" Mag Blend, I had 163 in 13" at POA at 40 Yards, and the whole 22"x28" sheet of white poster board was sprayed with pellets.  It would likely be very forgiving at 20-30 Yards.

The same choke in .665 with ports and wad catchers gave me 190 in 10" and 227 in 13" Dead On POA, using the same 3" MB shell.  It was a much tighter pattern, but it didn't cover the whole sheet nearly as well.

It's hard to get it both ways.
