Hey guys, I just killed my first RIO the other day and would like to get some type of tail fan mount done.  I kept the tail feathers, secondary feathers, beard and spurs.  If you guys have any pics of your tail fan mounts or shadow boxes I would appreciate seeing some pics of them.   I will also be doing an Eastern to match.  Thanks in advance.

I've done a couple for myself like the one below.  I ordered the Short Board (model SB6L or S - I can't remember which one) plaque in walnut from Walnut Creek Hardwoods (http://www.walnutcreekhardwood.com/) and instead of the engraved turkey picture I sent them the text I wanted in place of the turkey picture and they laser engraved the info I wanted - Eastern Wild Turkey, then my name, date of kill, county and state of kill, weight, beard length, and length of spurs.  I cut off the shotgun shell and used hot melt glue to attach the beard.  I painted some wood beads red, white, and blue like a gobbler's head (the white and blue appears a bit washed out in the photo).

Here is one I did myself.  I found the mount kit at Wal-mart after a season a few years ago for like $3.  Killed my first tom last year and put him on it.  He has the longest beard and weighed the most of any I have killed, I killed a tom this year with longer spurs.  His stats are 11" beard, 1" spurs, and 20lbs.  Here is a link to the kit if you are interested:
