I had to use some CA glue on a pot the other day and when I went to finish the call the CA glue had a reaction to the lacquer finish and turned white. It didn't do it everywhere just a few spots. Anybody ever have this happen? If so what can I do to avoid it in the past and how can I correct it on this pot? Thanks guys.

Hey Joe. I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination but maybe try using just the ca glue as a finish and then polishing it. I use hut plastic polish to polish up the ca. Not really sure if this helps solve your dilemma or not, but might be worth a shot.

That is kind of odd Joe. I have never had that happen before so I'm not sure what could have happened, but was the glue possibly still wet when the finish was put on? That is the only way I could see it reacting.

I didn't think it was still wet. I had my hands all over it before I finished it but I did have to use alot to fill some holes. Maybe it was still a little wet. I'll have to make sure from now on that its completely dry. Thanks guys.

Ca glue is slightly acidic and sets up by going slightly alcaline, generally
by reacting with the humidity in the air. I use an accelerator to cure
it as most woods are acidic and can significantly increase the cure time.
Could be the glue you used. I buy mine in 16 oz bottles from Starbond and
keep it in the fridg. to extend its shelf life.
