Trumpet mouth piece material

What are some good mouth piece materials im trying to use delrin but not having any success it gets too flexible on the lathe when trying to get it to size .. also whats a good outside diameter to start with for a mouth piece ? Not looking for trade secrets just looking for some advice

You have to turn it slow and very sharpe tool, I use a carbide 11
