Turkey hunting near Crossville, TN?

I have some relation in Crossville TN. I looked at the website for the DNR and couldn't find much?

Is there any good public hunting down that way? I'd love to go down there next year and get an early jump on the season. I think TN comes in about a month before Ohio's does.

Any info is much appreciated!

All these are either in crossville or close not bad drives at all i'm talking within 30 miles I live in Crossville

Thank you spitndrum. I saw the catoosa wma on google maps. TN's regs are so hard to dig through, I apologize but how does the out of state hunters license work there?

Also, out of those wma's named which one is best? I'm not afraid of walking either.

I have read in the TN sportsman mag. that the numbers of Catoosa Turkeys have fallen year after year..
but have not hunted it much do to the hunting pressure 10years ago and have not been back...was alot of city slickers hunting it (sorry if that is you ) and would Run all over you.

North Cumberland  (AKA:Royal Blue Wildlife Management Area) is my pick in the area....but it is VERY Mountainous and steep... IT RUNS THE CITY SLICKERS OFF

Very true for Catoosa, same reason I quit hunting there. As for Royal Blue, I don't know, never hunted it.

I'm not worried about the hills/mountains. How much does it cost to hunt? what are the out of stater fees?

Dont know around 250 350 but i'll look it up...... Got my life time Licence in 98 and have not had to buy any licence in over 10yrs in Tennessee.
