I'm leaning towards Swamp gobbler outfitters, cypress roost, Storey hunts, or osceola outdoors. All four seem to come highly recommended.

For those have been to south zone of Florida, what is the best time period to go, earlier in the season the better?

Go early.  The birds on our place in Glades county start gobbling  a little during deer season in mid January and have been going good now for a few weeks.  The later you go, the hotter it will be and the birds could slow down.

Thats weird.  My family had a place in muse and i went here and there for youth in lykes and seemed like they kicked off down in collier before they would in muse.

I recommend swamp gobbler outfitters. My dad and I had awesome hunts with them.

Highly recommend Osceola Outdoors.  You won't have a better time anywhere, than you'll have with Mike Tussey and his crew.

Avoid facebook type guides ....avoid people that have openings for the SAME year , there is usually a good reason why ...dont hire folks to show you around crowded public areas and quota hunts,  or airboat rides to hunt someone else's. Pasture to the high water mark ...that's BS

My recommendation hunt Orlando area and south , I'm not going to get into some online expert debate on where the "line "is , I'm saying as a floridian who has shot them.all over the state .....ORLANDO AREA AND SOUTH , the front part of the season down here is ALWAYS BEST unless there was a cold front , and that happens

There are some good guide operations. and there are some BAD ones use common sense , check references etc...

I highly recommend DC cattle ranch. I hunted with them spring 2013 and it was phenomenal. I took my bird the first afternoon and I was treated to a steak dinner that evening with beef from the ranch. Great hunt and great quality people!!!

Good lord willing and the creek don't rise I am going to dc ranch opening weekend

Another vote for Osceola Outdoors! I've known Mike Tussey for 15 years. He definitely has the birds. Last Thursday, I had a big dagger spurred gobbler down 3 hours after arriving in camp. I think they are running 100% success rate so far this year. Great outfit to hunt with!

I am pretty certain I am going to go ahead and book for next spring for a group of 2-3 of us. Right now I have it narrowed down to 5 different outfits. I am open as well to other suggestions anyone has, or who to stay away from. With the kind of money we are looking at spending, we are expecting 100% success rates or as close to as one can possibly get. Preference would be hunting true swamp country, palmettos, bottoms, etc...not huge on being in the midst of an orange grove. We do want to stay in the southern half of Florida or further, as we want pure Osceola's. Thanks in advance

5 we are looking at:

Swamp Gobbler Outfitters
Osceola Outdoors
Cypress Roost Outfitters
DC Cattle Ranch
Storey Hunts

Curious about what an outfitter would charge in Fla?

These days...if you have to ask, you probably can't afford it.  :o
That's about rude IMO. Some people have plenty of money, but won't spend that much to buy something that can be bought in the store.
