Jeb's rem choke and federal tss

Been thinking about jumping on the 20ga tss band wagon after season. Have a 21" 870. Looking for a choke to put up big numbers at 40 yrds. Would the Jeb's headhunter be a viable option?

I've never had the best results from Jebs chokes. Always seem to get highest numbers from Indian creek or Sumtoy. But they are well made and will certainly get the job done

Indian Creek or Sumtoy .555 or .562 should take care of what you want!

I have the exact same gun and have both a Jebs .565 and a Sumtoy .562. Got to say, both are fantastic chokes and do well into the 300 numbers  (10" circle) at 40 yards. My son, who also has the same gun, uses a Long Beard XR choke I think is .568. He gets even higher numbers. Better run an optic with any of these, because the pattern is mighty small at 20 yards.....that's using TSS 1 1/2oz #9s.

Have the exact same gun as you describe.  Love the pattern that the Jebs .565 throws with Federal 1.5 oz TSS #9's.  Was using a Indian Creek .560 but liked the eveness of the Jebs pattern better.  The turkeys I've shot sure haven't liked it.

My Carlsons 575 Fed TSS 9 is the same gun throws one hell of a hunting pattern. I did count numbers but they were high and what I really liked about was the 20 yard pattern was still huntable.

Unless you're looking to shoot 60yds or more the carlsons .575 and Remington sf throw nice patterns at 40 and are much more forgiving.

The Carlson's 575 non-ported is hard to beat for a hunting pattern and also puts up great numbers as well.  They can be bought for around $30.  I am shooting the Carlson's with hand rolled TSS #9s out of a 21" 870, and it shoots great.  My son's 21" 870 shot the Primos Tightwad a little better.  Both guns are putting around 250 in the 10" at 40 and 250 more in the 10"-20".

Shooting the same gun and using an ORIGINAL .570 Jellyhead. Great hunting pattern... I don't chase numbers, I chase turkeys... but I still get 170-180 in a 10" at 40. Very even pattern with the Fed 9s.

Thanks again for all of the replies. I already have the Carlson's .575, Remington super full and factory full, Primos tightwad, Primos jellyhead max, and Truglo SSX. Not wanting to take long shots. With the truglo pro series sights, it's like shooting a rifle. So real tight at close range is not a concern. The SSX might be the answer. Never had much luck with it shooting the larger lead shot sizes. Blown patterns.
