The mailman brought me something special today from Harrison Custom Calls! I spent quite a bit of time deciding what wood I wanted my hootin stick made from. I couldn't decide between burnt hedge and olive wood. After speaking with James for a bit he said that he had a beautiful piece of olive so, taking him at his word I went with the olive.
Man, am I glad that I did!
Sunday I received a message from James saying that my hooter was done and would be shipped Monday. He also said that he put a little surprise in the box for me. I opened the box this afternoon to find this absolutely stunning matched set! I assure you that the pictures absolutely do not do these calls justice. I also promise you that the sounds these calls produce are ridiculously lifelike and sweet! I contacted James and told him how impressed I am as well as humbled by his generosity.
We spoke for quite a while this afternoon about turkeys, calls and other important things.
Anyone who doesn't own a Harrison hootin stick absolutely should!  Great calls made by an amazingly talented maker who just happens to be one of the nicest guys I've ever had the great pleasure to talk with.

That's a fine looking piece.

I just talked to him about making me a coyote howler. I think that in addition to these two would make the perfect locator set!
