What sort of things can be done in order to improve habitat for turkeys? I know water, roosting trees, and nesting cover are all important. But are there ways that you all have found to improve turkey usage of property and/or make it better suited for them. Thanks!

Burns are probably the easiest and very effective, plus I think it's fin, but I'm a bit of a pyro!

Yep, this, but be sure you're with somebody who knows what they're doing. As far as I know , most state natural resources departments will assist landowners with controlled burns ( heavy equipment to lay fire breaks and such). Controlled burns , a limited clear cut, couple of food plots, good cover acreage, all that mixed together and you're in business. And not just with turkeys! Good land management also helps game species withstand predator pressure.

Predator control would probably bring the highest results

Food plots can be huge in area of no ag

Set your land up to burn with fire breaks etc.. Burn on a rotation. Some native grass areas for nesting areas are good and cheap. Planting anything or simply bush hogging openings here and there are good. Animals need diversity. The cheapest and most bang for your buck thing to do is burn as stated by others.
