JEBS Chokes

I bought my first JEBS choke this spring (for a Mossberg 835 with a 24" barrel), and went with the suggestions of turkey harvester and the boys at JEBS. JEBS are a joy to talk with on the phone by the way and extremely knowledgable.  The JEBS rep that answered stated .660 without hesitation and said that was the constriction he used. So, I got the Headhunter in .660 instead of the .665 I had originally thought. Man was I pleased in the patterns with 1 3/4 ounce #5 Longbeards. I was getting between 180-200 #5s in a 10" circle at 38 yards. So, when a Mossberg 935 Turkey with a 22" barrel fell into my lap at a great price, I assumed the .660 was the way to go. I screwed the one I had in my 835 into it and had at the pattern board. Disappointment reigned. I got between 160 - 170 of the same load at the same distance. Pattern seemed a little thin in the middle but was even. Knowing what the 835 did with the 660, I felt 160-170 was not what the gun was capable of so I ordered a 665. The pattern was almost exactly what I was getting with the 660. Back on the phone with JEBS and spoke with Luke. I explained my issue and after listening to my drawn out story, he felt the 655 might be the best bet to tame this 935 beast. I sent the 665 back and exchanged for the .655. Worst pattern of all I had tried. 135 in the 10" circle. Back on the phone with JEBS....explained again and was advised to go back to the 660 and try it with a dirty barrel this time. A wonderful difference. I am back to 180-190 in the 10" . Thanks JEBS for being a wonderful company that stands behind its products and employs people who care about customer service. All told, we mailed chokes back and forth for three weeks, but they stand behind their word and products. I think they would have mailed chokes for another three weeks or I had just quit trying. Two big Virginia birds can be added to the JEBS choke tally...neither one a test (one at 12 yards and the other about 25 yards), but I know either would have been taken cleanly at 45 had I needed to. Thanks again JEBS and if anyone on here doubts their reputation, give me a yell....

HELLO! You could have saved yourself time and money by just going with an indian creek, pure gold or sumtoy. Lotta people drinkin the jebs kool aid on social media too. Seems like every other guy on social media is a prostaffer shoving jebs chokes down peoples throats. Ive talked to jebs  about a choke for my 935 before, felt like i was talking to a salesman @ a car stealership. He had no info on what numbers i should expect,couldnt answer my queston as to why jebs makes chokes up to .20 tighter than anybody else on the market for 835/935's, but but boy he was ready to take my $$$ and send me a choke he couldn't answer any questions about. Between my dealings with them and all the clowns on social media, id screw a modified choke in my barrel to turkey hunt before a jebs.

I've had some dealings with Jebs as well and I have never been impressed.  Tried their recommended choke in the SBE2 and it was meh, tried their recommended choke in the M2 20 and it was worse than the factory full.

Indian Creek has been the most consistent for me.  To each their own I suppose (or good marketing).

Back when I patterned some of those over bored barrels they seemed to prefer 670 plus.

A friend had issues with jebs sending him the proper choke for his 20ga, even after sending them pics of the threads!

He gave up!

I've shot Jebs for several years.  Sometimes I got so so results but mostly I got very good results.  I currently have them in all my guns and in a couple of my setups they put up better number than Indian Creek.

Jordanz7935, I also have an Indian Creek .675 for the 835/935. I tried it in the 835 (about 170 average in the same load I am getting 180+ with the .660 JEBS) and its about 165 average in the 935. With the JEBS .660 and the same load, from a dirty barrel I am averaging in the mid 180's or better. I have Indian Creeks in other guns and won't speak bad of them, but the JEBS I have in the Mossbergs out shot them. I don't work for either company and all I care about are results. The guys I spoke with seemed knowledgeable and answered my questions to my satisfaction.  I just has a positive experience with JEBS and thought I would pass it along.

If everyone got on here and posted about the awesome experience they had with sumtoy that's all this page would be. I have ran across several posts this year similar to this promoting jeb's. Seems like they are just attempting to get sales. Now my experience with jeb's was terrible. Couldnt answer questions and when I questioned what they recommended guy got super pissed and asked me if I wanted to make Turkey chokes for them. I use sumtoy and ic and have for the last 15 years. No Jeb love from me here.

AGAIN....I don't work for either JEBS or Indian Creek or Sumtoy or any other choke company nor do I own any stock in any choke company. Not putting down any choke company. Can't speak for anyone else's experiences. I can only speak for my interaction with JEBS and how they handled the issue. They out patterned the Indian Creek in MY guns and worked with me to find the best constriction. I have a Benelli with an Indian Creek and so does my son. It patterns so well, I saw no reason to try another choke in either. I have never owned a Sumtoy but see good reviews for them on here. They may outshoot the JEBS but With the numbers I have now, I see no reason to try one. I am sure they are a great choke, I just can't speak for them. Your experiences may have been different.

Glad it worked out for you...Its great seeing a good pattern after spending good money on a choke. I hate the other side of it when you dont,but it seems like quite a few of the choke companies want to make it right.
