Hope.......the fuel of our diligence to believe... we strive to HOPE ... Hebrews 6 tells us in the scripture in the verses 9 - 20 that as believers in Christ, we have things to look forward to that are "part of the package" contained within our Salvation. Rewards from God for our diligent work and ministering, in His name, and in those rewards, lies the assurance of HOPE...even until the end.
The writer talks about the promises of God, they are not made on empty thoughts or false ideals, but they are based on God's Righteous as there is no greater way to sware an allegience, and God will not change, here is a scripture that really sets the tone for us to live by ... Heb. 6 : 11, 12 " And we desire that everyone of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end. That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises."
Life is hard, no doubt ... it is more then just difficult ... it requires a strong belief fueled by faith in a God who is unchangeable ... who's word in permanent and sure. But, it takes work on our part, to be steadfast and sure to His doctrine, to His plan of Salvation, to obey and confirm His exsisitence in our lives by being living Christian examples and leading the lost to Christ.
Verse 19 says " WHICH HOPE WE HAVE AS AN ANCHOR OF THE SOUL, both sure and steadfast ...." and this comes through Christ who became our mediator and our mentor, the forerunner who made the way possible, for us to enter into the Holiest of Holies, diligently seeking God's advice and counsel.
So, here it is in a nutshell, don't give in to the pressures of life, but look on past this world with a living and true HOPE, look into the skies of eternal bliss, feel the comfort of a steady hand, the hand of God, as He caresses us with His love and mercy. Don't fall prey to the temporal delghts of this world, it can only slow us down in our venture to sharing the gospel, but remain faithful unto the end....and through patience fed by a strong will of endurance, through faith, the prommises are ours for the taking.
