Pulled a really dumb move!!!
Left my box call laying next to a tree Saturday.  Didn't realize it until today!!!  Went and got it but had to pour the water out of it!!!!  How should I dry this thing out??  I know its not a good idea to apply any heat so should I just leave it on the counter to dry out and hope for the best??

Ouch, I have no advice for you but someone on here has probably done the same thing or at least offer some advice on how to dry it. Maybe on top of the refrigerator? Not a hot heat but not room temp either. That's what I would try anyhow.

Good Luck

I slipped and fell while rushing to cross a small creek on the 1st day I hunted this year, in the process I dunked the lid of my brand new box in the creek for maybe 2 seconds.......ruined it.

I just opened it up and let it air dry in my house for about 2 weeks before trying to play it......

It's back at the call makers shop being rebuilt as we speak...........

Thats bad big mick.I have no advice for u on that as i have never had that problem.Maybe just let it air dry dunno. But on a side note i broke my favorite box call last weekend it was a cane creek that i had for 10 years. So im pretty bummed bout that. :anim_25:

Danger DAve

Sounds like something I would do.  A guy in my deer hunting club pulls up before sunrise and we are talking and he had forgotten his rifle.

I feel your pain.

Well here's an update. Looks like I might have gotten lucky.  Left the call on the kitchen counter for a week and let of dry out. Put it back together, chalked it, and then said a little prayer. Hard to believe but I think it sounds better than before. I believe the Good Lord helped me out!

Sometimes you get lucky. Good for you!
If I had a dollar for every gobbler I thought I fooled I'd be well off!
