Pipeline life has its positives and its negatives. Turkey season is a definite positive. Last year I tagged out in OH and PA, so I set my sight on WV. Weather was a huge letdown, but I managed to get two birds pretty quick.
Although I would have liked my son to kill his first bird on our family land in AR, bird in the hand is always better. It was a panic filled hunt and the video proves this.
https://youtu.be/YkuM91USWp0I was in route to a public spot, when a buddy working up here gave me a called me at 3:30 asking if I wanted to come hit some of the privileged land he got permission on. I gladly obliged.
Second bird was the next morning on the public land I was headed to the previous morning. It was a super cool hunt. Bird followed a hen off the roost into a in well pad. I actually rested my gun on some piping and let the ole 20 speak. Tagged out and tallied another state...7 down, 42 to go.
Bird 3 was a little tougher. OH brought on some seriously tough weather, work was starting to ramp up, and birds weren't in the spots I had them last year. I got a wild hair and decided to take a mid day hunt. This fella right here hit back at a box around 12:00 and was taking a piggy back ride at 1:00.
