Crystal vs. Stoned Aluminum
I like the sound of the stoned aluminum but seems like turkeys have responded more to the crystal for me.
If you had to pick one; why?

Crystal sounds better to my ears.  For aluminum i like smooth anodized better than stoned.  Not as easy to run as stoned but i like the sound better.

If I had to pick one it would be the one the turkeys respond best to. That preference can change from day to day and bird to bird.

That being said I always have an aluminum and crystal or glass when hunting.

Crystal over aluminum all day long for me. I do not care for any metal surfaces really. I will use them and own several but usually they are the last thing I will run. Aluminum , copper and Titanium. My least favorite.

Not all stoned aluminum is created equal.

Depends on the call. I prefer the sound of crystal but a good aluminum pot has killed a lot of birds for me. I always have one of each, along with a ceramic in my vest. I rarely carry a slate any more.

Stoned aluminum is my go to meat call. Talks turkey and has volume to cut the wind and locate. Pecker Wrecker or Lonzo are my choices. Kevin's being the loudest.
