Cherokee forest late season

Thought it would be worth a shot to ask if anyone has any experience hunting this Forest. Never hunted it before but believe I have some good areas to start out in from looking at topo maps. I plan on hunting it first week of May so I was curious if my timeing would be ok. If anyone has any advice or info to PM me it would be much appreciated.
