April 22nd-- Next Monday Finally! I keep reading here that some Hunters are already done and Tagged out. NEW YORK Opens on May 1st. Those are the States, I hunt. All, I can say is that Wild Turkey numbers and Sightens are through the Roof in Orange County,NY and Passaic County,NJ. I Only live 52 miles from NYC. Even Rockland County,NY which always ranked Dead Last on The Spring Turkey Take List has Wild Turkeys all over the Palasades Highway Stretch. I think that the 2 huge State Parks-- Beat My and Harriman State Parks which do not allow Hunting is probably the reason. Commuters say Turkeys are all over the place. I remember reading the Spring County Take back around 1990 and Rockland County had ZERO one year and , I remember (1) another Spring. Things have changed in my Neck of the Woods. Hopefully, I can tag out with 3--5 Birds between NY +NJ. Reading all the success stories here on this site has me looking forward to next week!!!
