Just so yall know I goose egged last season so I have been stewing over it all year. 3rd morning out this year the pressure is off.
Sorry in my haste I didnt take any pics. Not a monster but respectable 9" beard 3/4 spurs. Im thinking a 2 year old?
This one was classic.
While setting up before daylight I heard a gobble 200 yards maybe . It was what I though way to early so I decide my mind was playing tricks. Then I hear him again and again. Went on with my set up and got sat down. Enjoyed listening to him gobble every 30 secs for at least 20 mins. Then when I thought the light was good I made a couple soft yelps.. no reply so I waited a little longer and tried again . This time my yelps were awful so I figured that's that lol. then I made what I felt was about 3 or 4 decent yelps. he gobbled right on top of them and then went silent. I knew he was coming so I got my gun up and got still. I feel he flew off the roost across the valley to my ridge wide open because within maybe a min he gobbled 40 yards behind me. then 10 yards . Im just waiting and sure nuff he walked right past me . When he got in front of me I dropped the hammer. 10-12 yard kill . 7:15 I was headed home. Mouth call was a Calling all Turkeys 3 read reverse cut combo.
