Mature gobbler-No spurs

Shot one like that 30 plus years ago , I've seen gobblers with 1 spur , upside down  spur , also multiple spurs...it happens

I killed a Pa longbeard with no spurs a few years ago. Not even a bump on the scales.

My son and I have killed a few with no sign of spurs or either little "ant bite" looking bumps where spurs should've grown. I always feel cheated. lol

I killed one in South Dakota with no spurs, and a friend killed one on the same trip.  We've killed several in that same area without spurs, which tells me its probably genetic.

I killed a bird locally 3 years ago with one big spur and a healed over completely broken off spur on the other leg.
