I had a Winchester Sx3 with 26 inch barrel with the duratouch finish. The dura touch had become extremely sticky - to the point of pulling fuzz and lint off of everything it came in contact with. After talking with my gunsmith and finding out the turn around time for Customer service to take care of it was 8-9 months- I took it to Tarjac. They stripped all the dura touch for a $25 charge. They had a special at the time on the new Realtree timber- so that's what I went with. I knew from prior patterning that it shot off of point of aim with tighter chokes. I ordered up a Sumtoy Mount / protector and installed a Burris FF3. I couldn't be happier with how it turned out.

Was the gun camo before or a black model?

The gun was a waterfowl camo pattern before.... the dura touch on the stock and forearm actually became darker as well as getting so sticky.

Did they remove camo dip from metal or just paint and dip over old camo?

They sand blast or media blast the dura touch off as well as the old dipped coating. If I remember it right ....they apply a base coat and then hydro dip. Then it gets a matte clear coat over the hydro dip.

Turned out great! I need to get my sx3 coyote dipped like that!
