Angled mouth piece ?

Just picked up a AE trumpet and somewhat new to the trumpet game.
My question, does the angle go up or down? Been running it up.

Most run it down. I can either way but down works better.

Mostly down. And sometimes canted at an angle. Depends on what I'm doing with the call. Doesn't really matter. You will have to develop your own 'feel' for the call and see what works best for you. Practice practice practice.

Primarily down for me, but can run an angled tip regardless. Like chefrific said, you need to develop a feel for the particular call.
A quality paddle caller will most run itself. It just needs someone to carry it around the woods.

Over time...they come to learn how little air a good yelper actually requires.

To piggyback on this... for you trumpet veterans - what advantage is an angled mouthpiece over the straight?

If I run an angled MP down I get a bit more rasp as my lower lip acts like a reed as more air runs across it. I get the same affect on a straight MP by changing how my lips seal on the lip stop. So I prefer straight for its versatility.

I have messed around with angled vs straight mouthpiece tips and prefer straight. I used to play with it down mostly, but could move it around without issue.
