Federal 3rd degree tss

I picked up a couple boxes the other day and patterned it alongside some XRs. At 40 yards the federal tss hit a 12x12 target with 272 pellets compared to XRs 184. Both threw a nice pattern.

That was with 9 shot tss though, not the third degree. My fault, I misread you post.

Delmar, I believe you have the #9 Federal Heavyweight TSS not the 3rd degree.  The 3rd degree is #5 #6 and #7 shot only.  It contains #7 TSS 40%, #6 Flitestopper shot 20% and #5 copper plated lead.  These shells have converted to the Flex wad which can effectively be shot though standard and ported chokes.  If the #6 Flitestopper shot is steel shot, I don't think I'll be trying them on turkeys.  My
