And another 301 .410 question

Just picked up a Compact 301 with screw in choke. Want to add an optic to it and have my gunsmith lined up to drill and tap it Monday.

My question is for anyone who has done this is what rail or mount did you use? I want something that matches the barrel contour and is not just a flat rail.

Took it to my gunsmith and he was going to tap it. Apparently there's not enough metal to get a screw to hold. He took the rail of a Turkey model and found it had a piece soldered to it that the screw went into.

I mounted a Nikon red dot to the plate that came on gun

This is not the Turkey version. It's the Compact and they don't come with a rail.

My gunsmith ended up taking a Steel Leupold rail and cutting it to length, then soldered it to the barrel. After that, he Cerakoted the barrel to cover up the work.

Looks like it came this way.
