Question about box calls

What makes a "high" and "low" side? Is it the thickness of the sides? Is it the thickness of the top of the rails?

I really appreciate any tips ya'll can give.

Typically the radius and wall thickness has a large play in the high and low sounds a box call creates. The thicker the walls the higher the pitch. Thinner walls creates a lower pitched call.
