I know I've posted stuff like this before but a cool gift to a kid might be a couple of simple mouth calls or a pot, scratcher whatever w a note that you'll take him or her this spring.
If they don't have a license , help them get ready for hunter ed, ready their gun, explain the things we do, take them out listening, show them sign, even roosting the night before.
I know we're all busy but some kid somewhere is less fortunate than us. We know hunters are dwindling. Many kids would go if invited and that would swell our ranks. It's a gift that'll keep on keepin on.
Put someone first a day or two this year be a mentor.
