You are correct. I have had several dipped and not one issue. I had to sign wavers and i understand that. A dipper doesnt want someone coming back saying his scope wont hold zero because of the dip job. We all know that dipping will not have anything to do with a zero but some folks will have a 10 year old banged around scope and want a new one to replace it. Its really sad but the world we now live in. Dipping the scope puts it under water for a few seconds , no different than hunting in the rain all day in my opinion. Scoped have orings for water proofing and sealing gases to prevent fog. I would wager you will have no issues. Good luck.
