I've had a M77 (3 position safety) in 7mm Rem Mag for several years and love it . . . except the trigger. I've looked at the RifleBasix and Timney, but just have not brought myself to dish out $100 yet. Tooling around on the inter webs today I ran across these replacement sear springs

Anybody ever used either of these or done this to a Ruger? I'm a little nervous that it will add creep to my trigger, but for $6-7 I may gamble.

I had my local gunsmith do some file work and spring swapping. $20.00 and it is way better than it was. Not quite timney performance but darn close

Both me and Zane have the Rifle Basix in our M77 and we really like them.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons. However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

You can grind about 1/2 a turn on each end of the spring to soften it a little if you desire. I did this on a buddy's .270 Model 77 and he loves what it has done for the gun.

I have a pro trigger job done on my M77 .270, tang safety......best money I've spent. I wouldn't hesitate on putting a drop in trigger in it though if it were me starting over.
