Nice looking call. I do have a question though, the one piece to the top of the call looks like it could be a striker, is the bottom of the call slate? If so could you show a picture please? Thank you.

I think you are referring to the chalk holder. There is no slate on the call.
Oh okay, sorry the bit of black sticking out of it made me think it was a striker of some kinds. Love that English Walnut by the way, great grain.

That's a rubber plug that keeps the chalk inside. The chalk holder is a cool addition to the call.

These calls are really neat. They look great, and they are a lot of fun to play. You can get all sorts of turkey sounds out of the call by manipulating the lid. It's my first hen box and I think it will definitely help me kill more birds.

Matt Fulkerson is great to work with and provides a fine product with excellent customer service.

I was given my first Longbox by Cut N Run another member here and they sound like they are kinda similar to play in the way you manipulate the paddle? I am still learning the Longbox.

Thanks for the kind words guys!  Ray, Glad you like the call bud! Enjoy it for years to come.. It will be like a fine bourbon, It will only get better with age my friend!

God Bless ya in the Turkey Woods!
Matt
Are you willing to step out of the boat as Peter did?  Think about it, he wouldn't have walked on water without stepping out of the boat!

My snakewood over apple is on the way. Talked on the phone with matt last night for a while. He sent me a soundfile and that is one of the best hen boxes i have ever heard. Got him to put some serious rasp in it on the backend. Apple is not known for rasp but this thing is phenominal.

noisy box call that seems to sound like a flock of juvenile hens pecking their way through a wheat field

I got a bloodwood over English walnut from Matt a couple of months ago that sounds great, I was able to call in a couple of longbeards with it. I just recently got on his list again for a snakewood over teak that he recommended.
