I love WV and spring opener.

I must say, this year was just pretty rough. Monday, cold wet and very windy. Day two....woke up to snow and wind. Day three, 26 degrees at daybreak heard lots of gobbling and way too many hens. I think they might have the spring opener a week too early.....jut saying.    Got skunked.

Same here in the N Panhandle.  Hoping Fri starts a better run of weather!
If I can't make it through tomorrow, better make it through today.

No better down here in Southern part of WV. Monday was terrible, went yesterday and never heard a bird, my buddy killed a big Yote, so that was a plus. Super windy and rain today. Going the next 3 days, better weather hopefully.

I hear ya!!! Its been a tuff season so far for me. Lots of hens and the spring woods looks more like fall woods. There have been some pretty nice birds killed though. Good luck to all you WV hunters.

Haven't been out since youth day. Weather has been nasty thiugh. Snow was still flying here in the Mountains today. I was hoping to get out tomorrow but no dice.

I agree, it's been rough. I did find several long beards on Tuesday when it was snowing hard. They were all together in one low area protected from the wind. Luckily I saw the top tail feathers walking up on them. I was about 20 yards away. Backed up set up but had to put the sneak on them. Once they caught a glimpse of my 1/2 strut decoy, it was on! But pure luck.
