I was out doing some scouting this morning with my owl call and a damn coyote came sprinting across the creek about 100 yards away.....never knew they would come to an owl call

It may have been hoping to steal a kill from the owl. Yotes are quite opportunistic creatures.
Love fishing and Deer hunting (Shotgun, Muzzleloader & Pistol). Recently became addicted to Turkey Hunting.

Gobble!

For the first time i had one come in on me last year. Had no idea he was there until I heard him take off running.

I had two come sprinting dead at me the other morning. I didn't even call yet as I had just got there, by the time I realized what was going on they were about 8 feet away running from my right to left. I shot quickly in self defense lol, and missed unfortunatel.  I was definitely wondering in that few seconds if they were coming for me. It had rained that morning so i couldn't hear them until they were literally in my lap.

I can do a coyote howl with my owl hooter and have howled in yotes with it while looking for roost gobbles in the evening

Was easing around a bend in the logging road and hit the crow call before I rounded the bend and hear  running towards me. To my surprise a coyote ran into view and took a load of 31/2  lead 6s . The turkey hunting got better on that ground after that

I know that they will run away as soon as they see you but I didn't have a gun on me so I started to get nervous lol

Just got back from hunting Oklahoma the other day. Never seen as many groups of coyotes as out there; there had to be a packs every four square miles. Had a pack of them open up howling down wind of me in the dard the second day. They were with in a hundred yards of me, I didn't figure they would try anything but was glad to have my gun in my hand. I filmed it in the dark for the recording of them, and ended up useing it a few days later at dark. Wanted to see if i could get a gobbler to respond to it on the roost at dark. Didn't get a turkey but got a lone coyote to respond.
