Scope mount for Mossberg 835

Hello, I just pulled the trigger on a new Mossberg 835.  It comes with the LPA trigger which I am really excited to try.  This new Mossberg will be a dedicated turkey gun and I plan on mounting a Weaver V3 1-3 x 20 I already have. The scope is currently sitting in medium Weaver Quad locks and originally I was going to throw this scope/ring combo in one of the Weaver multiple slot bases that go for around 10$.  Now I'm thinking a sturdier and/or lower mount may make sense.  Is the DNz mount worth the extra money? One of the Mossberg branded mounts? Any other suggestions ?

I'd stick with the Weaver quads myself. They are cheap, but they work. I used them on an 06 for years. You could always change later if you wanted.

:welcomeOG:   Congrats on the 835, one of the best patterning shotguns for turkeys available IMO.  Clean and polish the barrel and get you a choke in the .670-.676 range.  A few are Pure Gold, Sumtoy, Indian Creek and SSX.  If your mounting the Weaver, DNZ's are hard to beat.  I use them on my 300 win mag and they are top quality mounts.  Grab some #5 or #6 Longbeards or #7 Hevi-13's and you'll have a GREAT combo.

I put a DNZ on my 835 and it works great. Receiver was drilled and taped from the factory. Use a little blue loctite on the screws and never look back.

X2. I run those on every gun I have without issues. I like the idea of having multiple security points as opposed to the typical strap style.

I appreciate everyone's feedback.  I actually already have two boxes of long beard XR #5.  I'm also leaning  towards a ssx choke as it appears to be the least expensive of the commonly recommended chokes.  You can probably tell by my equipment selection that I spent a few hours doing research on this site.  I knew us rifle loonies were crazy about squeezing every last bit of performance out of our rifles but didn't realize how obsessed you turkey hunters could get! I look forward to a new outdoor addiction.
