Hey guys I joined the Marines back in 2014 and have been stationed in California for the last 4 years and I haven't got to turkey hunt since I joined... I was wondering if any one here knows or has hunted in Southern California I'm on Camp Pendleton and I've been told that San Diego county has some decent turkey hunting just wondering in any one here might have any information on it. Thanks in advance.

Heck I don't know the answer to your question jarhead but thank you for your service.  As a former devil dog (0331) and turkey hunter I admire and respect your quest for gobblers.  Good luck to you. I wish I could help.

Sorry I don't.
This site may help those who serve and move from base to base.  It's run by a friend.

Joe Slaton of Motherlode Turkey Calls is from CA, but I think he's a ways north.  He's on here as TRKYHTR, you may send him a message to see if he knows anyone down your way. Good luck!

Semper Fi,  you might try the base hunting club and if they don't have one try Cal Fish &Wildlife and find out the local warden I'm sure he could point you in the right direction. You joined the best sir.

Look deeper into some of the active service member hunt areas on some of the military bases,  if not the base your stationed , some of the other ones have spectacular hunting opportunities that the general public does not -- call up the base natural resources HQ and tell them who you are and they will help you out

I will say this ....we have a number of turkey hunters from California,  and from what I hear and see with the abundance of turkeys and very low lease prices some of those guys have it made in the shade

They got spectacular waterfowl hunting , California sounds like a place I wouldn't mind living if it weren't for the fact I wouldn't want to live within 1000 miles of barbEra Streisand and her liberal koolaid drinking idiot Hollywood buddies
