99% seated (in a lounger the past 2 seasons). Only 1 standing, years ago.

I'm surprised at the number of prone shooters. I've never even considered that position? Hunting wooded tracts of mountain ground, I guess it's never even entered the equation.  ???

Happy

My prone shots mainly happened in fields. Using a small rise in the field. Call them up and when they pop their heads over looking......

All seated, except for two. Both of those I was in the process of sitting down and had to shoot early, as I was slow to pick a spot in my early years of turkey hunting, although one took a followup as I stood up, not sure if it was needed, but made me feel better.

Never tried to lay prone, but not sure my bad back could take it for long anyways.

I did miss one crouched one time.  Dumb decision to crouch, dumb decision to shoot.

Shot them sitting and standing, don't think I've killed one from the belly crawl position.
I'm not a Christian because I'm strong and have it all together. I'm a Christian because I'm weak and admit I need a Saviour!

Killed one standing up on a field edge on Saturday in Maine.

One kneeling and all the rest were killed from the sitting position.

From my youthful days of tree squirrel hunting, I learned to shoot both right and left handed. Over the last several years,  this has proven valuable when shooting from my ground lounger. I can cover more than  180 degrees and have taken many deer/turkeys being able to shoot from either shoulder. I've thought about standing, but would need one of those attach-to-the-tree seats to provide some comfort.

appalachianassassin
