Mainly Halloran or Stuckey one-piece. Halloran Ipe, Purpleheart, and Yellowheart. Stuckey maccasar ebony and dymondwood. Also have a Brad Roberts one piece granadillo and katalox I like to throw in the mix on glass calls as well.

I use mainly 2 piece strikers that came with calls. I have a Dymondwood dowel with corn cob that sounds the best across the widest range of calls. I think that one came with an Enticer call a decade or so ago. I do want to try some new strikers and have a 1 piece Black Locust and a fiver rod striker in order. What is the price range on the West Augusta strikers?

I would say 30 to 50 for the more exotic wood is what Torman charges. It takes Steve a long time to turn one of his strikers. At Unicoi he was joking about why no one mimics his strikers. He said because you can make money when it takes so long

Tim Sanford, dymonwood, one piece acorn style. The thin dimensions with the belly in the shaft is easier to hold and still vibrates for excellent sound.

Hickory 2 piece strikers have probably killed more birds than any. I ended up with a Stuckey Bubinga, along with 2 piece birch top Hickory, Poplar, Canary, Rosewood, and a waterproof gray tip striker in my vest by seasons end.

Fowler, whatever he suggests, just tell him what you have and what sound you want.
