I would like to do a father/son merriam or rio hunt next year and not sure where to go. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on a outfitter for myself and 12 year old son. This hunt will be the start of my son and I quest for our slam and his 13th Birthday. Thanks in advance.

I can suggest two outfitters. One is Tri-state outfitters in Northern New Mexico for Merriam  Turkey. Hunt takes place on a 300,000.00 acre ranch. Main highway cuts through ranch for 17 miles. Plenty of land and plenty of Turkey. I have a write up on my hunt on this forum. Should come up under Tri-state outfitters in search.

Just finished up a hunt in central Kansas with Prairie Thunder outfitters for Rio's. Honestly did not expect Rio's to be as exciting as the Merriam or the Eastern's I'm used to hunting. I could not have been more wrong. Hugely exciting and I would really like to hunt the Rio again. I also wrote up my  Rio hunt on this forum. Search Prairie Thunder outfitters. You owe it to yourself to review these two outfitters. I found both very accommodating.  Good luck.

Forgot to mention Parrire Thunder on instagram. This where Zack posts all his Turkey pictures. My pictures are also posted. Not much on the Parrire Thunder facebook page except duck and goose hunting.

I would like to mention that I have no personal or bussiness afiliation with either outfitter. I will tell it exactly as I experienced it and will not hesitate to inlude the bad with the good.
