One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

Great story and congrats to your Dad.  Get him to a decent Podiatrist.  I had to go see one for plantar fascitis before turkey season. Got a hydrocortizone injection that wasn't exactly pleasant, but it made an unbelievable difference.
