for you duck hunters with retrievers

my lab used to be awesome, picked up the knack of retreiving quick. now after awhile and me not working with him to to much he either wont retrieve or he will go get it then run wildly by me, i think its because he had a leg problem and was cooped up for awhile. any tips on breaking a few bad habits?

Have you force fetched him? If not I would get the smart fetch dvds and go through it all. I can promise you it is the biggest thing in training retrievers right now and everyone swears by it.
