Seen a pic in the best pic thread of some guy that had his spurs on a lace which alot do but he had cut the red scales off and around the spur his look white.

How do I do this just whittle it with a knife I would hate to mess up my spurs?

I use a dremel tool and a sanding wheel.  Cut and scrape as much off with a knife as you can, let it dry then polish and sand with the dremel.
A veteran is someone who, at one point, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America' for an amount of 'up to and including their life.'

Just take a knife and cut the skin/scales away from the bone, then clean the marrow out of the leg bone.  Then I put borax all over them and let them dry for a couple of weeks.  After that I take the dremel tool and use a sanding wheel to pollish it up like chcltlabz does.  It really works well!
