I have a Remington 870 youth model my wife uses. My question is would a syntheitic stock and forearm, be lighter than the wood ones?

I imagine it would be but my daughter's youth 20 is pretty light with the wood. 3" stout turkey loads may give a little more bite if any lighter.

Yes but not a huge difference.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons. However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.

I cant speak for the 870 but we do have 2 Mossburg youth guns. One with a wood stock and one with synthetic. My youngest shot the synthetic a couple times and said that it hurt so I shot it and there is a noticeable difference between the two,

I bought my son one of the 870 compact synthetic model a few years ago and it had some kick to it with 3" loads, I changed out the butt stock for a shurshot one and he's shooting it like a champ said he likes it better with the shurshot stock cause it doesn't rattle his jaw anymore lol.

According to the Remington specs the synthetic version weighs 1/2 pound less. Held side by side the weight difference is obvious.

Mine are lighter yes. 1 older express 20 feels like the wood has lead in it when comparing to synthetics. Another newer express is slightly heavier.
