Got my 2nd bird this afteroon, went to a favorite spot this mourning and all I saw was 2 hens, one of them almost busted me, she walked around a hedge just as I made a soft yelp on my pot call, she stuck her head in the bushes loooking for me and as she was looking a cardnial bird flew and its wing hit me in the glasses, almost jumped but held on, that hen was 6ft away and kept looking for me till she finaily walked off, her and another hen were across the field and as I watched a hawk (the same one that tried to snatch my deke the other day) swept down and tried to snatch one, the younger hen jumped in a fence row while the other hen flexed her stuff and made a heck of a racket, a few minutes later that hawk tried to snatch my hen deke up again, twice,..Needless to say I left there around 11am, went back around 3pm so I could set up were I knew them hens would came back out later on, I grabbed a Dan Kendall mouth call (Gone Wild) as I walked in and done some soft yelping along the creek as I went, turned into the lane and eased in the field looking for anything and didn't see nothing so I walked on in and as I did in the upper corner of the field there is a lane thru some cedars and there were 3 longbeards. I walked around and hid myself were I could watch them and started to call.

The rest of the story.
I used that Gone Wild call from Dan and they started to strut around then I saw a lone hen with them so I really got hot on that call and pulled out a pot call as well as a wing and started makeing alot of ruckus. They headed my way and then back and this went on for 15 or so minutes, they got out of site so I thought they went around and into another field so I slipped out and eased around and they weren't there, I got on my knees and thought, Lord what do I do now, and He said, you need a decoy, so I blew up my little decoy and hen and went around and peeped and sure enough here they come, all 4 of them. I put my deke were they would see it and scrambled for a hideing spot, fat boy scramling aint funny to watch, anyhow they came in, hen first and as she walked by me 3 struter came in range, I want go into details as to what happened next but you thugs understand, then there was a DEAD BIRD DOWN.
Here are some pics.

WTG!!!! Rick. That is awesome. The Gone Wild has quickly gone to the top of my list. I've got a new prototype of that call that I'm running everyday and it sings.

Thanks guys, this bird also has 2 barred tail feathers, last year Wes killed one like that and I thought it was cool, although this one is not as noticeable as Wes's, it's still pretty cool.
After I shot this bird, 1 of the gobblers stayed and beat up on him, he even bred and pulled out feathers, I finailly had to holler at this bird and shake a bush to get him to leave, he was the biggest of the 3, so I figure he must have been the dominate bird, his bird looked to be 12in long.
