Car wins, but the turkey gets its licks in.

I'd say the sheriff must be a fisherman give his size estimate...

They must grow big up there! 30 pounds is one big turkey. I almost got hit by one riding my Harley one time. He was a big gobbler and when I saw him I didn't have time to do anything but duck my head down. Felt part of him just barely brush my head and my girlfriend who was riding on back and didn't see him and duck got her bandanna knocked off!

Neither her or the turkey were hurt but it could have been bad.

I reckon you dodged a bullet on that one - a turkey to the head at seed would probably kill ya - or at least dump ya off the scoot.

That's believable, here in far SE Iowa and up in the Loess Hills of the NW part of the state, you hear of a 30 lber occasionally.

Guy did better with his car than I am doing with my gun...

I did realize I live in the wrong state...  I do not have 30 lbs turkeys in my state, nor do I have the 20 lbs honkers I always hear about....
Did I do that?

Fly fishermen are born honest, but they get over it.

My brother who has only been hunting a few years.  Every deer he sees is a 4pt. He says this so much that it has become a running joke with my other hunting buddies that know him as well. One day he calls me and says a gobbler flew into his truck.  When I asked him how big it was he said..."looked like it had a 4" beard"   :TooFunny:

Had a buddy years back cruising down the interstate and had a trooper behind him. Turkey runs out and "smack" buddy creams it with his car, it rolls up over the windshield and then hits the trooper car. Trooper promptly pulls over my buddy and issues him a ticket.

For flipping him the bird

3 words my friend - secluded back bays.  Only place you're gonna find he 20 pound honks!!

Hope you are having a fun season nonetheless.  It is journey, not a destination.

I've got a buddy in KS who is a trooper. He had his dashcam going while responding to a call. Yep, he ran over one. He was going to fast for the bird to clear the hood and you couldn't even tell if it was a gobbler or hen. I told him he was lucky it didn't come through the windshield.

So what happens later that week?  I was a passenger in a pickup heading up Hwy 67 for a meeting and out runs a hen.  She hit the grill and rolled up to the windshield. Nothing but feathers, not a good experience.  About $2500 damage to that GMC.
