Non Turkey related.... but lever guns

I love lever guns.  Mine are all accurate and they are quick pointing and handy hunting guns.


A few 30/30's, a .307 Winchester, a 35 Remington, a 375 Winchester and a 45/70.  I just rotate through them during deer season.  My bolt guns haven't gotten much love in years during deer season. 


I've shot the 45/70 out to 600yds.  50 feet of drop, it takes about 1/2 day for the bullet to get there, lol.

Holy cow! At that point you did some good guestimation on where to hold.....

Yep, I have a Leupold 2.5x20 on mine and just so happened there was a monster Poplar tree behind my steel target so I just started on the limbs and worked my way up until I found where to hold.  Surprisingly accurate one the kentucky windage was figured out.

Have the older model Marlin 45/70 and a Winchester long colt.45 trapper.
Both are alot of fun.

Nice gun. I have always wanted a lever in .35 but they seem hard to find. I settled for an 1895 in 45-70.

Nice one. I had a .44 cal.Marlin lever action neat looking gun,but jammed constantly. Hopefully it was only me that got a bad one.

Newer or older? I've heard the newer ones once Remington took over where not as nice in terms of quality. But honestly I haven't side by side compared any.

Commonly known as the Marlin Jam.  It seems to happen more in the 1894's and guns chambered for shorter rounds, 38/357, 44 mag, etc.

Nice gun !!
