I've read the book and now I can report that the movie pretty well holds true to the book. Although many parts of the movie are heart wrenching, there are many wonderful messages that are contained in it. An exceptional book and movie.

Great movie!

 X3. Great book and movie. Really nails how much God loves us and the message of forgiveness.
Just remember it is a movie and not actually scripture, but it does depict some truths. Couple parts of the movie really got me, but I do not want to spoil it fit anyone.

I also recommend the  sound track, all the songs are  really awesome.
