I'll be out next Saturday for opening day on public land. Got turned down yesterday asking to hunt some private land near work.

I wish, our season doesn't start until April 10th up here. Our first weekend of youth season comes in this weekend though, will be taking the boy out but doesn't look to promising with a 90% chance of rain on Saturday. Good luck to you guys.

Blah!! I didn't hear a gobble or see one either. Just a hen. Going back out for round two

The only gobbler I saw was crossing the driveway when I came home. Didn't see any jakes either. Odd day. I don't have much more to work with than I did this morning but I'm back out tomorrow!

I painted my gobbstopper 3/4 strut jake today. It had a flat finish so I redid the head, added some black to the feathers and the light brown as well. Then I sprayed all but the head with gloss clear coat. I think it turned out well.

Not my picture, but an idea of the before. Very flat paint.
